BOIL WATER ADVISORY

Please be advised that the BOIL WATER ADVISORY for the Village of Champlain and the Town of Champlain has been lifted as of April 26, 2007.

Required water sampling has been completed and has tested negative for total coliform bacteria; therefore, the Clinton County Health Department has lifted the Boil Water Advisory, per their letter dated April 26, 2007.

PICK UP DAY DESIGNATED

Tuesday, May 1, 2007, and Tuesday, May 15, 2007, have been designated as pick-up days in the Village of Champlain.

Village residents are urged to bag their lawn rakings and general yard debris in CLEAR BAGS and put at the curbside by 7:00 a.m. for pick-up by the Village Public Works Crew. The Village will only be picking up leaves, branches smaller than three inches in diameter, and general yard debris. Please be sure that no other waste materials are placed in the bags.

VILLAGE OF CHAMPLAIN TAX NOTICE

ASSESSMENT ROLL of the Village of Champlain, County of Clinton, upon which the assessment and tax appears, was delivered to me the 12th day of May. Collection of taxes will be received without penalty from June 1st to July 1st. After July 1st, 5% will be added, and 1% on the first of each month thereafter. If remitting by mail, payments must be postmarked before the penalty date. On November 1st, unpaid tax bills will be sent to the County for re-levy.

BUDGET WORKSHOP

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Champlain, 1104 Rt. 9 (Main St.), Champlain, New York, will hold a workshop for the purpose of reviewing the 2007-2008 Tentative Village Budget and any other business that may come before the Board. The workshop will be held on Wednesday,
March 28, 2007, at 6:30 p.m.

VILLAGE BUDGET

Notice is hereby given that the Estimate and Tentative Budget for the Village of Champlain for the year June 1, 2007 to May 31, 2008 has been completed by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Champlain, and a copy thereof is filed in the office of the Village Clerk/Treasurer where the same will remain open to public inspection until April 2, 2007, at 7 p.m. when a Public Hearing will be held to consider such Budget, including water and sewer rates, before final adoption.

                                                Trustees’ Salary - $3,240/year

HYDRANT FLUSHING

The Village of Champlain will be flushing hydrants starting Monday, April 16, 2007, through Friday, April 20, 2007. The hours of flushing are Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. This includes the Landfill Water District and the Ridge Road Water District. Some discoloration can be expected.

ANNUAL ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Champlain will hold their annual organizational meeting, and any other business that comes before the Board, on Monday, April 2, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. at the Village Office, 1104 Route 9 (Main St.), Champlain, New York. The regular monthly Board Meeting scheduled for Monday, April 9, 2007, has been cancelled. It has been rescheduled for April 2, 2007, and will immediately follow the Organizational Meeting.

Parking Ban Reminder

NO PERSON SHALL PARK A MOTOR VEHICLE OR OTHER VEHICLE ON ANY STREET IN THE VILLAGE OF CHAMPLAIN BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 2 A.M. AND 6 A.M. FROM NOVEMBER 1ST TO APRIL 1ST.
