The Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of Champlain will hold a
Public Hearing on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at 5 p.m. at the Village
Office, 1104 Route 9, Champlain, New York to hear from those for or
against the Area Variance Application from Brenda Harrigan for the
property located at 120 South Street, Champlain, New York (Rita Roberts).
NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
A meeting has be scheduled by the Village of Champlain, the Village of Rouses Point, and the Town of Champlain for Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at 7 p.m. at the Town of Champlain, Route 9, Champlain, New York, to review and discuss the final draft of the Public Water and Sewer Shared Municipal Services and Asset Management Plan. The meeting is open to the public.

PLEASE NOTE ALL BRUSH NO LARGER THAN ONE (1) INCH IN DIAMETER MUST BE PUT IN CLEAR PLASTIC BAGS. BRUSH MUST BE REDUCED TO FIT COMPLETELY INTO THE CLEAR PLASTIC BAGS.
NO LOOSE BRUSH WILL BE PICKED UP
All loose brush and any unmanageable bags due to weight or tearing will be left for the homeowner.
We will continue to pick up leaves and lawn debris that must also be put in clear plastic bags. Please be sure no other debris is put into the bags. All bags should be put by the curbside by 7 a.m. on each scheduled day.
STREET SWEEPING
The Village of Champlain will be sweeping streets beginning on May 10, 2010, and continuing until completed. Please be advised that excessive blowing dust may occur.
Village of Champlain water/sewer bills due
The Village of Champlain residents are reminded that April 30th is the last day to pay outstanding water and sewer bills. After that date, any unpaid water and sewer amounts are added to the tax rolls and collected in June when taxes are paid.
VILLAGE BOARD MEETING RESCHEDULED
The Village of Champlain regular Board Meeting scheduled for April 12, 2010, has been changed to April 5, 2010, immediately following the Annual Organizational Meeting, which begins at 6:30 p.m. The meetings are open to the public.

Notice is hereby given that the Estimated and Tentative Budget for the Village of Champlain for the year June 1, 2010 to May 31, 2011 has been completed by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Champlain, and a copy thereof is filed in the office of the Village Clerk/Treasurer where the same will remain open to public inspection until April 5, 2010, at 7 p.m. when a Public Hearing will be held to consider such Budget, including water and sewer rates, before final adoption.
Mayor’s Salary - $4,590/year
Trustees’ Salary - $3,279/year

The regular meeting of the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Champlain, scheduled for Wednesday, December 9, 2009, has been cancelled. It has been re-scheduled for Wednesday, December 16, 2009, at 5 p.m. at the Village Office.
LEGAL NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Section 5-510 of the Village Law, the Treasurer of the Village of Champlain, Clinton County, New York, announces that the tax roll and warrant for the Village of Champlain has been left with her for collection of taxes therein levied.
The Treasurer has designated 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, from June 1, 2009 to July 1, 2009 inclusive, for the collection of taxes, after which date a 5% penalty will be added for the first month and 1% for each additional month until unpaid taxes are turned over to the County by the Village on November 1, 2009.
