RESOLUTION
POLLING PLACE AND TIME
2012 ELECTIONS
VILLAGE OF CHAMPLAIN

WHEREAS, the next Village Election for offices of the Village of Champlain, New York, will be held on March 20, 2012.

WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of said Village must designate, by resolution, the polling place and hours which the polls shall be open, per Section 15-104-3b of the State of New York Election Law; then be it therefore

RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Champlain has determined the polling place shall be at the Village of Champlain Office, 1104 Route 9, Champlain, New York, with the polls being open from
12 noon to 9 p.m., and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as required by Section 15-104-3b of the State Election Law, notice of said Village polling place and time the poles will be open be given at least sixty (60) days prior to said Election date.

THIS RESOLUTION shall take effect immediately. The foregoing question was duly put to a roll call vote which resulted as follows:

VILLAGE OF CHAMPLAIN
PLANNING BOARD PUBLIC HEARING

The Village of Champlain Planning Board has scheduled a Public Hearing on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at 5 p.m. at the Village Office, 1104 Route 9, Champlain, New York, to hear from those for or against a sub-division request submitted by Peter Stone for the property located at 41 Oak Street.

Workshop

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Champlain, 1104 Rt. 9 (Main St.), Champlain, New York, will hold a budget workshop for the purpose of working on the 2012-2013 Village Budget and any other business that may come before the Board. The workshop will be held on Monday, January 23, 2012, and will begin at 6 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

The Village of Champlain regular Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 11, 2012, has been cancelled.

Christmas Tree Pick-Up Scheduled in the Village of Champlain

The Village of Champlain Public Works Department will pick up Christmas trees throughout the Village on Monday, January 9, 2012, and Tuesday, January 10, 2012, beginning at 7 a.m. This is for the curbside pick up of Christmas trees only. Trees in plastic bags, with ornaments, or with tinsel will not be picked up. If any residents have questions, please call the Village Office at 518-298-4152.

HOLIDAY HOURS

The Village of Champlain Office will be closed on Monday, December 26th and Tuesday, December 27th for Christmas. We will also close at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 30th and will be closed all day on Monday, January 2nd for New Year’s.

SPECIAL MEETING

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Champlain will hold a special meeting on Monday, December 19, 2011, at 5 p.m. at the Village Office, 1104 Rt. 9 (Main St.) Champlain, N.Y. 12919. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss quotes for the demolition of the building at 93 Church Street and any other business that may come before the Board. The meeting is open to the public.

The Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of Champlain will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at 5 p.m. at the Village Office, 1104 Route 9, Champlain, New York to hear from those for or against the Special Use Application from Francis Taitt for the property located at 1167 Route 9, Champlain, New York. He plans to open a laundromat/multi-family apartment complex.

The Village of Champlain will be holding a Holiday Tree Lighting
Ceremony on Saturday, December 10, 2011, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the
Lawrence Paquette Park on Main Street. There will also be caroling and
refreshments served for all participants. The Village would appreciate a
donation of a non-perishable food item for the Champlain JCEO Food Shelf.

The Village of Champlain will once again be holding its Holiday Decorating
Contest. Judging will be held December 19 through December 24, 2011.
The winners will be listed in the Plattsburgh Press Republican as a news
item, and posted at the Village Office at 1104 Route 9, Champlain, New
York, and on the Village website after January 1, 2012.

2012 ELECTIONS
VILLAGE OF CHAMPLAIN

WHEREAS, the next Village Election for offices of the Village of
Champlain, New York, will be held on March 20, 2012.

WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of said Village must designate by
resolution and publish offices, which are to be filled at such election and the
terms thereof, then be it therefore

RESOLVED, that the Board of Trustees of this Village has determined the
following offices to be filled and to be voted thereupon, with the terms of
such offices respectively noted as follows:

TRUSTEE – TERM TWO YEARS
TRUSTEE – TERM TWO YEARS

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that as required by Section 15-104-3a of
the Village Election Law, notice of said Village Election be given at least
four (4) months prior to said Election date, and that the office to be voted
upon at said Election be likewise included in said notice.

THIS RESOLUTION shall take effect immediately. The foregoing

PLEASE NOTE ALL BRUSH NO LARGER THAN ONE (1) INCH IN DIAMETER MUST BE PUT IN CLEAR PLASTIC BAGS. BRUSH MUST BE REDUCED TO FIT COMPLETELY INTO THE CLEAR PLASTIC BAGS.

NO LOOSE BRUSH WILL BE PICKED UP

All loose brush and any unmanageable bags due to weight or tearing will be left for the homeowner.

We will continue to pick up leaves and lawn debris that must also be put in clear plastic bags. Please be sure no other debris is put into the bags. All bags should be put by the curbside by 7 a.m. on each scheduled day.

The Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of Champlain will hold
a Public Hearing on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at 5 p.m. at the
Village Office, 1104 Route 9, Champlain, New York to hear from
" those for or against the Special Use Application from Danielle Parker
for the property located at 32 Pine Street, Champlain, New York. She

The Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of Champlain will hold a
Public Hearing on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at 5 p.m. at the Village

against the Use Variance Application from Samuel Tayar for the property
located at 25 Locust Street, Champlain, New York. He plans to build a
10,000 foot extension to the existing building to be used for storage.

The Zoning Board of Appeals for the Village of Champlain will hold a
Public Hearing on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, at 5 p.m. at the Village
Office, 1104 Route 9, Champlain, New York to hear from those for or
against the Use Variance Application from Vance Mossey for the property
located at 43 Spruce Street, Champlain, New York, which is currently
owned by the Champlain Telephone Company. They are requesting that the
building be converted into a residential triplex.

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Champlain invites submission of sealed bids for the following surplus property:

2001 DODGE 2-door ¾ ton 4x4 pickup truck with 8’ Fisher plow

The truck may be viewed at the Village Office/Garage Complex located at 1104 Route 9 (Main Street), Champlain, New York, from Wednesday, May 4, through Friday, June 10, 2011, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. To be considered, all bids must be received and filed with the Village Office prior to 10 a.m., June 10, 2011. At that time, all bids will be publicly opened in the Village Office. The Village of Champlain reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Specifications are available at the Village Office between 7:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
